Our Newly Qualified Paddle Leaders
Its taken a while but after two long days training on the water with British Canoe Union(BCU) training Provider Getafix Ltd and another two days of assessment , we now have six qualified leaders able to take out up to 12 clients on a variety of crafts , although for our purposes we use Sit on top kayaks.
First day of training was spent on Lake Bala , whilst the following day the lads ventured onto the Canal and passed over the Famous Viaduct near Chirk. Having thoroughly covered group leadership the day ended with a number of rescue scenarios and the inevitable Self Rescues! 2 weeks later the assessments took place on Bala , with our Lads leading groups of volunteers around the Lake under the watchful eye of Frazer Marr from the BCU
